Folded Star PinCushion by PlumEasy Patterns! (MY VERY FIRST PINCUSHION!)

I attended the Quilt Festival all four days, being fortunate enough to have gotten an individual step by step demo on this incredible pincushion template, designed and created, by Deborah herself at PlumEasy Patterns.
She created this sheet template, instructions, fabric kit and ground walnut shells with a great and easy way to make a pincushion!! I had to have one and give it a go! I’ve always been intimidated by pincushions, but with this easy template, I made one!! I really made a pincushion all by myself!! 🙂
And I was not the least bit confused on how to put it together!!
Check out their ETSY page here and get some patterns and templates for pincushions, hot pads and even a new table runner! Believe me, they’re so easy to make, you’ll be like me and order a handful of more templates!!

I purchased a fabric kit from her at the show, containing all the fabric pieces I need; I cut out all my pieces, iron and starch them with my favorite light starch, Best Press.

20130812-232726.jpgI continue to say this again and again, this template is so effortless in making a pincushion! Deborah created this template where you can GLUE AND SEW your fabric directly on it and use it as a guide throughout the entire process! It’s an incredible creation!
I had no trouble putting it together!!
Well I did, but error on my behalf. Lol I was so excited to put it together, I sewed a crooked edge, but nothing a seam ripper can’t fix! 🙂

After sewing the fabric onto the easy to follow template, turn the pincushion right side out and you’re ready to fill your pincushion!!! Ahh!!! I was so darn excited that I spilled some ground walnut shells all over my desk! 😀
Deborah also carries these ground walnut shells for the pincushion filling!
I absolutely love it, I just ordered a bundle from her to make more pincushions!!

Both my boyfriend AND Raymond could not believe that I actually made this pincushion!!! My boyfriend’s first reaction “IT LOOKS LIKE YOU BOUGHT IT!!” , Music to my ears!! 🙂
I’m so excited to have reviewed this amazing pattern and template by PlumEasy Patterns for you all! I truly hope that I inspire you to make a pincushion with this fun and easy template.
If you’ve made a pincushion already, I would love to see pictures!! 🙂

    1. Not difficult at all!! I had never sewed a thing in my life, let alone make pincushions , about a month ago! I got a new sewing machine, found this template, followed the picture instructions and I had no trouble at all! 🙂
I’ve already made 3 pincushions ! They’re so easy with these templates, there are numbers, lines and arrows guiding you thru the ENTIRE process! There’s no thinking involved, I’m sure a teenager can do one too!! 🙂
Please don’t be intimidated by pincushions, they’re so easy and fun! I hope you make one, take pictures and post! That would be great! 🙂
And if you need help, contact me, I would love to help!
