My Introduction to the world!

Hello everyone and welcome to Ray’s Sew Crafty!

This introduction is long overdue, but at last, IT’S HERE!

I’m beyond excited to start my own blog! 🙂 I hope that in sharing my crafting experiences, struggles and adventures, I help out at least one person in their crafting journey.

Ray and I
Raymond and I!

My name’s Diana and this is my little baby Ray! We are inseparable, we craft together, sleep together, go on errands together and even go on a drive together! I’ve never loved a cat the way I love Ray, he’s more of a little boy than a cat I like to say. He’s just such a well-adjusted , loving and caring baby that he’s the reason I decided to learn new crafts! Crafts that look like him or have anything to do with cats capture my attention immediately!

Do you have any cats or pets you just adore? Do you make projects about them or for them?? I’d love to see your pets and projects!

I made this last year when I rescued Raymond as a kitten

Shortly after falling in love with Ray, anything with cute kitties I had to craft! Throughout my crafting, I’ve latch hooked Raymond’s portrait currently hanging in my kitchen, I’ve needle pointed cat coasters that look like most of my cats and tissue box covers for my tissue boxes! I have so many projects yet to complete, I’m sure that you know what it’s like finding a new project in the middle of another project and starting a new project and then having two incomplete projects… boy, don’t we all!! 😀

Kitty Coasters

After learning how to do hand needlework, my friend mentioned learning how to quilt; I jumped right in, found an easy lap quilt pattern on Joann’s website, bought some kitty fabric (of course!) and got started!! After a couple of people mentioning how much they love to MACHINE quilt or machine piece their quilt tops, I decided to check it out! It is safe to say that I am currently learning how to machine sew! I just picked up my Babylock Grace sewing machine today from my local quilt shop and I am uber excited to continue my quilting journey on my new machine! I found an easy child’s book / panel piece of fabric to piece together to practice on my new machine and I just LOVE IT! Both the process of learning to use my new sewing machine, but also the baby book! It’s a cute counting story of pirate bears! Just the cutest thing!!  🙂 I love this book so much, that not only will my construction of the baby book be my first actual post on my blog, but I will ALSO give-away one dozen of these books to my first dozen (email) followers!! 🙂

There’s my machine, I was at the quilt shop for about three hours making sure I learned how make it work properly because I was so certain I would come home and it NOT work no matter what I did! But to my pleasant surprise, it worked with no trouble, I sewed the little children’s book with so much ease that all I want to do now is machine sew EVERYTHING!! 🙂

My very first machine sewn ANYTHING! Can be yours if you hurry and become one of my first 12 followers(via email)!!

Yes, you read, correctly, I will be giving away a dozen of these cloth children’s books to my first twelve followers (via email)! What are you waiting for?! 🙂 Hit that follow button, input your email information and receive your gift in the mail! It doesn’t get any better than that, am I right?

I love to make things for children, I don’t have any children yet, but lucky for you, that means MORE GIVE-AWAYS! 🙂

So please stay tuned, and again, Thank-You for visiting my blog and following my posts! I hope that I can share a little bit of everything to capture AND maintain your loyalty as a viewer! 🙂

That would be very nice, and maybe then I can show my mom all the views my blog has so that she can see that OTHER PEOPLE are actually interested in needlework and quilting in this 21st century, aside me!

Toodles for now,

Diana and Ray

  1. Welcome to the world of sewing and quilting. I find it therapeutic, and even more therapeutic to give away all I make. Now I have an order for a giraffe quilt with the colors red and white. That is going to be interesting! Looking forward to following you on your crafting journey. ~ Irma

    1. Oh aren’t cats just the best, Vicky ? 🙂 I moved in with my bf and he had two cats already, one which was already an elderly cat and well, she just like Nala, is no longer with us ❤ rest in peace to them both, and there will always be a spot in our hearts for them!
After we rescued my sweet baby ray, oh I am just in love with him! I'm sure ,so far, you've seen him be involved in my projects! 😛 we are just inseparable and I am officially a cat lover! And definitely embrace other cat lovers and befriend them because we can talk about our babies and understand each other! Lol
I actually have a baby picture of Raymond as a baby as a skin/sticker on the back of my ipad! And some people give me looks about it, but I love my baby and I'm not afraid to show it! 🙂
